driving in the rain

Jul 19, 2004 16:50

Last night I had to drive my sister to my dad's house. He lives on a curvy crazy back country road. It was about 8:30 as we were heading up there so it was mostly dark, raining and very foggy. We noticed tons of little frogs jumping all over the road. It was insane. I tried my hardest not to hit them but it was hard because of all of the fog. I'm ( Read more... )

aw, I hate running over frogs :( ... I know how you feel, I've been in similar situations myself.

The creepy ghost-girl thing - that wasn't anywhere near the back roads around richmondville/summit, was it? Because my brother had a creepy thing like that (seeing a girl, and there's a lot more to the story though) happen to him out there.

Good luck with your new work-week. :) I've always thought that I'd prefer 4 longer days to 5 shorter ones myself- that extra time you have piled into one day really makes a difference.

I don't think I have ever seen frogs in the road until the other night! I was amazed and horrified.

The ghost girl thing was actually on West Fulton Rd. (I think that's what it's called) - it starts in Warnerville - right near where Mineral Springs Rd. ends (the SUNY end) and goes all the way over to rt 30 in Middleburgh. I think you can actually get to Summit going up that way. Oooh creepy! Ghost girls must be lurking all over that area. Eeeek. You will have to tell me about your brother's story sometime!

Oooh that is so creepy! Those back roads out there are scary, even in the day time they are too a little bit. Your brother's story just gives me another reason to never want to drive alone on them ever again!

Running a creature over with your car is so not fun :( Out where I grew up (and where my dad lives still) it's all country-ish so it's hard to avoid hitting things. The biggest thing I ever ran over was a raccoon when I was about 18 and I cried the rest of the way home. I felt so bad :(

Yup, I'm excited about the 3 day weekends! Woohoo! I just hope I do something productive or fun with my extra day off.

One time I hit a bunny. I cried.

The biggest thing I ever hit (besides the deer that ran head on into the side of my car and took out my driver's side mirror - but it ran away, so I'm sure it was okay) that I believe I killed was a possum - but they're really stupid, so I didn't feel SO bad about it.

I was really sad when I hit that bunny, though... :(
