About an hour or so ago I voted in my first election :) I am such a wierdo, I get so anxious in new situations. I came home from work and got myself all stressed out about going out to vote. It's not that I didn't want to vote because I definitely did, but I just get all tweaked when I am faced with something new and different. Finally Cory ( Read more... )

YAY! YAY! YAY! I'm so proud of you Sarah, I could burst!

Many moons ago, when I laid that "Why do the smart, sensitive people choose not to vote?" line on you, it was much, much more than a line. We need more people like you voting in every election. We need all of the smart, sensitive people voting, because the troglodytes never hesitate to cast their votes--and then look what happens.

Thanks for fighting the good fight (if you'll allow me to use a totally goofy phrase). :)

Did I say for whom the thinking fellers should vote? No, they simply should. Unfortunately, they are usually the ones who see that the system is corrupt and choose not to participate at all, rather than do whatever they can to change it, even if it means participating in an imperfect process. If everyone who wanted nothing to do with the dirty game of politics went to the polls on Election Day, this would be a very different country.

The troglodytes, in my opinion, are the ones who are blindly partisan, or the ones who are "single issue voters." They come from every part of the political spectrum.

As a sensitive person, you have my utmost respect for casting your vote, if indeed you did, writtenoutloud. My hat is off to you.
