I'm just happy we'll have a drug addict playing a drug addict. Downey should definitely be able to pull off Tony's addiction, which they will hopefully go into at length in the film

Indeed. I really enjoy movies that cast actors who have real life experiences to draw motivation from. The idea of an addict playing an addict is very smart. I think a lot of super hero movies have had trouble finding an actor who can correctly display "internal conflict" without coming off as fake. For example, every Batman movie. I even felt Bale had a hard time with Wayne's inner turmoil.
