Whatever makes you feel better, more positive. If it's reading a book, taking a bath, riding a bike, hanging out with a freind, going to a coffee shop and watching others, taking a nap. Whatever it is.
And, about your statement (or quote?) that life is too short to live it just for you: If you don't live it for yourself, what's the point? If you don't live it in a way that makes YOU happy, you won't enjoy it and people will not want to live it with you.
At least, that's what I have found. Living for others is usually what got us here in the first place. We have to live it for ourselves first, then live WITH others.
Thank you. I was a little afraid I was pushing the point a little too much. But this is exactly the reason I'm currently in counseling. I tried live for someone else, one that I do love and has ever been abusive. And you know where that got me? It put me in a situation where my unhappiness was enough to seriously consider suicide. The only thing that has changed for me is that I'm seeing that I have to learn to make MYSELF happy.
*cough* um, yes, it's something I'm very passinate about at the moment.
