Because scholastic preparation shows direction and dedication to prove you really want to do it. :)

I'm in a similar situation. Nobody will hire a teenager to do anything that isn't bitchwork/disgusting.

I can understand the teen situation. I once did crap work at Casa Chica since I was only 14. Then I started at the gym and well never left, hah! Once you have a vehicle of your own it will be easier. Your almost 18 so things will look up for you. I'm stuck because I can't afford college and working combined with Kris just won't work anyway at this point in time. Life is great.

Tough call. If you take the job you would love, will it have seriously negative effect on your's & Chris' standard of living? If you go for the job you dislike, are you going to be walking around [all the days of your life] looking like you are constipated?

As a Minister :) I can offer you some spiritual advice:

Jobs are not the same as work, humans need to work!
We need to occupy ourselves with some activity that we find satisfying, even if it's the satisfaction of getting it done!

Jobs are thankless, tedious, soulsucking things that compensate workers with money.
Money is important, but not worth dying slowly inside.

Take the work, dump the job and learn to be happy with less stuff.
