[Something's not quite right here, so naturally, it really must be wrong. After all, who just leaves a scrumptious looking triple layer cake with butter cream frosting just sitting on a table in the middle of a street? Certainly not a dorky not-quite-alive replica on the look out for specimens that honestly thinks humans are dumb enough to fall ( Read more... )

[Cake? Here? Weird.]

[But Luke's kinda hungry, and if someone's stupid enough to leave a delicious cake out here, then it's their loss. Delicious cake, here he comes!]

[...man, he was such an idiot when he had long hair.]

[Hey, Luke. HERE COMES THE CAGE.]

[Omnomnomno--]

Hey, what the hell?! [His screeching might be more impressive if his mouth wasn't full of cake. He draws his sword and starts kicking at the cage.]

Lemme out of this thing!

[Don't mind this Luke as he floats down to sit on top of the cage, swinging his legs idly.]

Why exactly should I?

[Damn, that cake looks delicious.

Plus he hasn't eaten all day.

But a cake in the middle of the road? Madness. Madness and way too convenient. There must be a strategic way to assess the state of the cake without endangering himself. Assuming it was a trap, something might try to kill him. In which case, throwing something at the cake might not yield results. Then again, if something did try to kill him, he could most certainly be ready for it. And he could check if the cake was poisoned before he ate it in the first place.

After that small strategic runabout in his head, Jade simply wandered over, speararm at the ready- just in case.

Cake.]

[Luke is... really starting to believe that all humans are stupid, even if they're named Jade.]

[As soon as he gets close enough to the cake, down comes the cage.]

[Even people named Jade want cake every once in a while.

However, he seems unperturbed as he checks the cake for poison first. Once addressing that, he looks about for the person who set up the cage.]

I'll be sorely disappointed if this cake is disgusting.

It would be an insult to my master if it wasn't perfect.

[Luke floated down from above, giving Jade a displeased look.]

Jade, why are you of all people falling for such an obvious trap?

[Cake! It's a cake! Lorelei had heard much about the wonders of pastries and icing and confection, but alas, being a fonon sentience hadn't allowed much time to savour the joys of food. Might as well take this chance when someone so thoughtfully left a cake out for any passerbys to enjoy!]

[He drifted over to the cake and was about to take a bite when he realized the flaw in his plan. He had no mouth. Nor did he have tastebuds.]

Well now, this just isn't fair!

[He's just...gonna circle around the cake in a fit of depression, like a sulky serpent of fire.]

Oh this is going to be interesting... XD fonicfraccion November 13 2011, 02:22:26 UTC
[Did Lorelei ever get to enjoy the pleasure of cages? Because one would be coming down over it as he circled around the cake.]

[Well, anything's better than being trapped inside Van. In fact, this was positively delightful! Lorelei pokes at one of the bars curiously before returning his attention to the cake. Maybe if he tries to glide through it...?]

[Luke floated down a little closer, but he still couldn't believe it. This had to be some kind of joke... wasn't this a bit of an impossibility?]

Lorelei...
