Fandom: Homestuck
Pairing: Karkat Vantas/Sollux Captor
Theme set: Beta
Title: Relevance
Rating: PG
Warning[s]: Time travelling, spoilers (?), shounen-ai, swearing (a given), alcoholism (implied)
Notes: It might actually be in chronological order.
#01 - Walking: “HURRY THE FUCK UP-WE’RE LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!”
#02 - Waltz: Sollux somehow ended up leading Karkat in a dance that neither of them understood, but he did his best to follow the other trolls that seemed to know this particular dance.
#03 - Wishes: “I would like to be human,” Sollux whispered after he was certain that Karkat was asleep.
#04 - Wonder: He was curious as to what caused Karkat to swear shortly after waking up, but then he saw his reflection and marveled at the thought of actually being a human.
#05 - Worry: However, he could see that Karkat didn’t like this-he could see that Karkat thought that there was something wrong with the situation (worrying, always worrying.)
#06 - Whimsy: Just as he thought that Karkat would lose his voice, he felt something pull at him, and he kissed Karkat just based on that silent feeling.
#07 - Waste/Wasteland: “Wow, that’s a lot of fucking trash.”
#08 - Whiskey and rum: Karkat had quickly become accustomed to the alcohol in the human’s world, but how he acquired it, Sollux didn’t know.
#09 - War: Sollux would often watch the television, and would often wonder about the “Great War” that had seemingly passed.
#10 - Weddings: “Are you going to get married,” Sollux asked a couple-he figured that it was “normal” since he saw a woman ask the couple the same question.
#11 - Birthday: “Just what the fuck are we supposed to do?”
#12 - Blessing: He watched the couple kiss, shortly after the priest blessed them, and he wished that he could get everyone’s blessing.
#13 - Bias: He knew he was being harsh, as he knew more about the Roaring Twenties, but he couldn’t help but to attack Karkat (verbally) whenever he did something wrong.
#14 - Burning: He watched Karkat groan in pain as they nearly landed in the lava, and couldn’t help but to laugh (in both relief and anger) as they watched the stones melt in the lava.
#15 - Breathing: He concentrated on keeping his breathing even, and he managed to succeed as he surveyed their new time period.
#16 - Breaking: “So, fucker, when the hell are we,” Karkat cried as Sollux surveyed the landscape.
#17 - Belief: “I think we’re in the first century, or the first year after Christ.”
#18 - Balloon: It was bit weird, now that he thought of it, to see balloons floating around the sky-he might’ve gotten the date wrong.
#19 - Balcony: Sollux flinched as he saw the beautiful girl confess her love for a boy she only met to the moon (and him in secret.)
#20 - Bane: He despised the play, but he honestly couldn’t remember even entering the theatre.
#21 - Quiet: He didn’t realize it till now, but it was eerily silent-he looked to his side to see Karkat staring at the stage in shock and horror.
#22 - Quirks: He couldn’t help but to chuckle, and to whisper, “Lovely, wasn’t it, KK?”
#23 - Question: “What did I tell you about using that fucked-up nickname?!”
#24 - Quarrel: The two could be viewed arguing playfully, but maybe… it was something more than what they exhibited.
#25 - Quitting: “I give up-there’s no way to stop this time travelling!”
#26 - Jump: Sollux knew that it was uncharacteristic of him, but he jumped in shock-he didn’t hear KK swear at all in the sentence.
#27 - Jester: Even before his shock wore off, he was chuckling, and adding in his own joke.
#28 - Jousting: “So, kk, want to ride a horse~?”
#29 - Jewel: The dichromatic eyes glittered in amusement as Karkat started to splutter incoherently.
#30 - Just: “Don’t you think things are fine as they are, kk?”
#31 - Smirk: It wasn’t two seconds after he got that sentence out that he noticed the smirk on his lover’s face-it meant something would happen.
#32 - Sorrow: Before Sollux could hear what Karkat would’ve said, they found themselves in an alternate universe, dealing with a shitload of drama from their companions-it was a sad sight indeed.
#33 - Stupidity: “WHO THE FUCK HID GAMZEE’S FUCKING PIE-DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!”
#34 - Serenade: Sollux heard of the idea when John sang to Vriska, a pathetic thing indeed, but he had no intention of following John-he could do something so much better.
#35 - Sarcasm: “And yes, I’ll pay attention now ‘cause I would love to lose my fucking life.”
#36 - Sordid: Sollux pulled back suddenly, wrinkling his nose as he exclaimed, “You stink!”
#37 - Soliloquy: “Karkat doesn’t care about his stench-Sollux could go fuck himself if he cared so much!”
#38 - Sojourn: “But yes, I do pity you Captor.”
#39 - Share: It was nice, to be able to lay out his secrets to Sollux Captor, the one troll who might be able to understand him.
#40 - Solitary: Karkat, though not that cowardly, did not want to reveal his matespritship with Sollux, so he hid in his hive all by himself.
#41 - Nowhere: If it wasn’t here, then it wasn’t there-it was as if it never existed, and that meant it would never be found, and he couldn’t forgive himself if he lost his matesprit’s first gift.
#42 - Neutral: The self-hatred somewhat faded as he found that his matesprit had taken it-it was a tie between the two hatreds, and he found that he wouldn’t take sides, and just let it play out.
#43 - Nuance: “YOU FUCKING NUANCE!”
#44 - Near: Even though Sollux was near Karkat, his matesprit still shouted, and he found himself asking, “Do you know what that means?”
#45 - Natural: It was a bit weird that they could easily fall into the pattern of teasing each other, but they did it with no awkward transition, and he laughed silently to himself.
#46 - Horizon: “It’s too bright,” Sollux hissed as they stared at the Earth’s setting sun, but he found that he didn’t mind the moment so much.
#47 - Valiant: “A person that obtained God Tier could only die if their death was heroic or just,” Karkat mumbled as they came upon a body that had obviously reached God Tier.
#48 - Virtuous: “Are we to assume that she was a sinner,” Sollux asked suddenly, almost as if he had been wondering that for a while.
#49 - Victory: Somehow, they found themselves in John’s room, battling him and Vriska in Call of Duty, and they somehow won.
#50 - Defeat: Yet the next game, they lost so badly that it was pretty (platonically) pathetic.
