Every time he got one of them back, another would wander off, spot an incredible find and dive into a side chamber, silently evaporate to investigate a suspicious noise, get distracted and forget they were supposed to be a Captain first and a scientist second.
I love how you describe how each teammate wanders away, though Sam's might be my favorite... because yes, she's all about the science.
Get up. You're being defended by an archaeologist with a P-90.
Bwah! This just made me laugh outloud. Because it's so true, particularly in the first few seasons, before Daniel becomes soldier boy. I miss Daniel and him not carrying a weapon.
Sir! Teal'c, take the Colonel - Daniel, you..." Being lifted - a sharp agony that almost brought him back to full awareness... Two tall bodies either side of him, and movement... Daylight... Grass tangling his feet...Yay Sam! She takes charge when necessary. I love how you depicted how at first she's much more of a scientist and then grows more into her combat role ( ... )

And I bet they've all evolved techniques for occupying themselves in the infirmary. *g*
Thank you! Glad you liked.

Hee, so true! I'm picturing Teal'c meditating, Daniel reading, Jack playing with his yo-yo... while Sam wanders around and fixes infirmary equipment, only to get yelled at by Janet for "trying to make it better."
it took me the longest time to notice it, and for it to occur to me that yes, that would be her job. (Presumably Teal'c next, and Daniel only in the worst of circumstances.
I think it's good that it took you a long while to notice, because it shows how smoothly she does it... I'm glad she doesn't panic or freak out (because I totally would). That makes her an excellent 2IC...

Absolutely. They don't make a fuss about it, which is how it should be. I've always loved that about Stargate, actually - the fact that they don't make a big deal about Sam doing the job she's supposed to do. Because it should be a non-issue, she ought to be able to do that without thinking about it, but not all shows would give it that treatment.

And, bonus, it made it short enough to fit into a comment! *g*
Thank you! The team, they take care of their own. I need a team icon...
