He was feeling much better than he supposed would have in other circumstances, his healing coming at an accelerated rate. Knocking softly, she opens the door and steps in without hesitation. Smiling at the boys, she carries a paper bag.

"Deb's is closed for the night guys. We're making them ourselves."

Neither brother flinched or stirred from the sofa. They had heard her coming down their drive. Loz gently shifted Yazoo off of him and rose to meet CJ, taking the bag from her. "Kitchen?" he asked but didn't wait for the answer.

Yazoo shifted to sit a little more upright. "Is this like ice cream?"

"Like ice cream? Sort of. It's everything for cheeseburgers with the works, pretty boy." She smiles at him and follows Loz into the kitchen. Tossing her coat over a chair, she washes her hands and gets ready to cook.

Loz unloaded the bag, leaning on the counter when everything was place out so CJ could get to it. "Do I need to do anything?"

"Kadaj said it had been paid," Yazoo said. He tilted his head and looked to the kitchen as well. "You didn't have to. We would have had the money soon. It was nice though."

"I know I didn't have to." There's nothing else to say, really, nd she reaches up and touches his hand in her hair softly before picking up another fry and eating it slowly as she watches the fire.

He smiled and leaned back again. CJ was stubborn, which is probably why Kadaj liked her. They all liked CJ, actually.

Loz came back with two opened beers and handed one to CJ before flopping into the floor next to her again. "You're quiet. What's up?"

Taking her beer, she leaned back against the couch. "Nothing."
