This question is semi-noob really - I've scoured GameFAQs and various AC boards but turned up nothing. So here's my issue simply

Are you planting the sprouts in every other hole? I was shown this yesterday... you have to dig a row of holes, then plant the sprouts in every other hole, leaving empty holes in between them. Then fill all the holes back in.

If you already tried this, sorry... that's all I got!

Crumbs, year old respoonse GET! Not to worry, I knew the basics of tree planting, but there appears to be a more complex density problem - you just can't make a huge forest of tightly packed trees.
