FB chat does seem to get confused and flaky more than other protocols for me - but I'm not really surprised. It does almost entirely avoid the need to log into the website to talk to fb-only people though.

Well, the plug-in is just emulating what the web browser does rather than being a proper protocol so that's not too surprising. They're harassing FB to actually open the thing up. You'd think provinging Jabber^WXMPP access wouldn't be too much to ask?
