LJ Clones

I am happy about my JournalFen, but, you know, not everyone can easily get one, and some people are using GreatestJournal and so on instead/too. I've got the hang of mirroring LJ and JF with Semagic now, it doesn't take much effort, so keeping more going shouldn't be hard.

What do you guys think? Should I at least claim my username on some of those ( Read more... )

I usually claim my username on whatever sites my LJ friends are going, so they can give me access to flist-locked posts, and also just to be sure it's mine. :) I haven't mirrored entries in a long time, though, just because nobody was reading over there aside from when LJ was down.

I think that you should snag the GJ one too.

Also, you double posted.

Whups. Looks like the kinks haven't all been worked out yet.

Well, I've got the GJ and backed up my LJ entries there. I'm also squatting my username on IJ, in case of interesting people having locked posts there. And they are all in Semagic for purposes of mirroring.

I'm all set, I think.

Ooh, I'll remember that you have GJ and IJ. I suppose there's no reason for others since I haven't heard of anyone wanting to go the Blurty or DeadJournal route. And there seem to be issues with LiveJourbal right now that I don't even know what the matter is.

Anyway, I'm babbling. I haven't made myself a "personal" GJ yet, but you can add me on IJ, if you'd like: I'm there as 'girlanachronism'.
