Twat Like a Drum--New York Day 2

Jul 21, 2007 15:43

I am in New York and there is NOTHING TO DO. Seriously. I'm dying here. I have to wait until Monday before I can contact the schools I applied to, and until then, I'm just lying around. I want to go out to a club, but I really don't want to go by myself, and there's no one to go with. I want to catch a show on Broadway, but that's money, and I' ( Read more... )

I called you today, of course you weren't there so Dan informed me as such. We had a really long conversation and then I joined him and some other folk at a writing thing. But... I was calling for you... because I love you... and miss you. I know that that doesn't actually do anything for you as you are in New York and want people to be THERE for you. Unfortunately I don't have the money right now to hop a plane to NY... and I have work... y'know annoying little things like that. But hopefully the knowledge that I love you and have been thinking about you and missing you should make you feel loved and cared for even if it doesn't make you less lonely.

In other news... have you gone to the Metropolitan Museum... it is kinda one of the most amazing things... even without people. When I was in NY on the orchestra trip to Carnegie we spent one day there and I spent most of my time ditching people because I was interested in things other than what they were. It is actually a better experience without people in my opinion. Plus I think the fee was by donation... always a plus. Who knows you might even meet people.

hey man, how long are you in NYC? I'll be moving there in early august, and I'll need an art-crawl buddy.

also: Jane Berentson (remember her? saxifrage editor?) lives in NYC.

Adam, it would be so much fun to hang with you. It must be about 3 years since seeing you in any real social context. I'm here until August 6th. When do you arrive?

i know this doesn't sound *that* appealing... but i work tonight in the village. i work at a starbucks on 14th street and 6th avenue... next to the urban outfitters... if you wanted to stop by around 600PMish, I could have my dinner break with you.

call me, or text me if you're interested. it's really easy getting there... 14th street has all the subways that stop by. just check a map. :)

Jay, I forgot you're here! I will call you as soon as I have access to a long-distance line. Hopefully you're still free enough to hang out sometime.
