"fork-tongue-taste the air" works so well! You're fantastic.
Also, _quixotic_ comes from a comparison to Don Quixote. Words are fabulous.
Finally, this is a really good poem, and we should talk about it on the trip.
In conclusion, I like introducing my sentences with these--what are they called?--conjunctive adverbial phrases.

Also, Ben Johnson was accused of "popery." I love that word. POPERY. I'm going to use it all the time.
