Freelance writing?

There's quite a market for freelance academic writers. Some of the companies are blatantly crooked, selling essays to students so that they'll get good results without learning the material! But other companies might be bona fide. I have a brain. Make my own judgements.

I'm now in the process of signing up to write for money through Writezillas

They sound interesting. I started doing freelance editing for non native English speakers in graduate school for extra money. It's hard finding the right pay rate that is fair to me but reasonable for them to afford (plus enforcing things like charging more for same day jobs)

Thank you for this info. May I ask which companies hired you for English language editing?

I do mine directly with students, not with a company (although I think I would have more consistent work if I found a company to do this through)

How interesting. I think I'll find an agency, when I'm over the shock of Writezillas' reputation. Of course there's no law against freelancers using an agency, and also using direct contact with clients.

Do you promote your editing on noticeboards (physical or online), by word of mouth or both? I think my business card about tutoring (this userpic) should share my handbag with another business card about editing and writing.

Thank you. I'd not heard of Edanzediting before but now I've looked at their website and found that they do indeed recruit editors.

Will come back to this. Just now, I've an Iranian paper to edit. No money for this one but useful learning about communication across cultural difference.
