disturbing day

I saw a man die today. He got run over by a car in the middle of Vets right outside where I was working. His foot got cut off and was lying in the street next to his body. I didn't see him get hit, but I saw when they stopped giving him CPR and left the body lying the street. It was hopeless, they said. He was dead

I'm pretty sure that it's more traumatic to see someone die in such a public way. I've seen someone die in a less dramatic way and the feeling is the same. Sigh.

yeah i kept feeling like i was somehow disrespecting the man by standing there staring, so after a little while i went back inside and got back to work. He deserves some dignity.
