Summary: Jayne & River arrives in Acairnia
Jayne was outfitted to fight an army. He had on utility fatigues with pockets that were packed with ammo and grenades. He had a vest on that had pockets much like the pants. Packed into those pockets was more ammo and more grenades. Beneath the vest was a faded tee shirt with some sort of logo far too faded to be read. There were a couple of hand guns in the holster hanging around his hips along with more ammo and a knife or two shoved inside it. Jayne liked ammo and weapons. They made him feel safe and he wasn't ever trusting Mal about the 'no grenades things', not after the incident with the Reavers.
He was also holding a gun. A very, very big gun. Jayne's very favorite fun in fact. Her name was Vera.
Moonlighting as a walking armory was common enough for him but particularly common when he was out on a job. Which he was.
Or had been.
Now he was in an elevator. As soon as he realized he was no longer in the right elevator, Vera came half way up into firing position and his posture changed from relaxed to on edge.
"Da-shiang bao-tza shr duh lah doo-tze, Mal...this ain't funny," Jayne shouted. In response, or so it seemed, the elevator doors slid open. He stepped out into the lobby, still wary but getting more and more confused by the moment. This weren't were they were s'posed to be doing the job.
"T'ain't funny a t'all," he grumbled. "Ain't right movin' a man 'round like this."
Something occurred to him, wariness disappearing for a moment while total confusion took over. "Now wait a gorram minute. I weren't that drunk last night."
He wasn't. He knew he wasn't and yet he was staring at some pretty substantial evidence that says he was.
"FAY-FAY duh PEE-yen what in the ruttin' hell is goin' on here?"
