30 is the new 5, 70 is the new 30, and death is available for a limited time at McDonald's

I was probably 13 when I first heard the phrase, "Never trust anyone over 30." "Wow, that's cool," dumb / impressionable 13-year-old-me said to himself.
never trust a word count over 30 )

Did you have to find a doctor under 30 to get scripts you could trust? I imagine such doctors must be difficult to find.

Oh, you aren't supposed to trust doctors. Big Medicine is out to get you!

*so much eyeroll* (Sorry, that jumped out at me, and that form of nature-nut irritates me under the BEST of circumstances. Being on two very strong antibiotics simultaneously after getting the most physically ill I have been in my adult life is NOT the best of circumstances!)

Yeah, so much recognize this. Now that I'm over 30 (turning 33 soon actually), I'm starting to get over myself, slowly but surely. It's painful though, to realise there's 5 year olds who made more of an impact than lil old me.

Wasn't it Bob Dylan who first coined the phrase, "Never trust anyone over 30?" I always laugh at that. Dylan was pretty edgy back in the day, but he and Iggy Pop always seemed sooooooo old to me by the time I was aware of their music. As a matter of fact, I was reluctant to listen to The Stooges for a long time, because of a poster that hung in a record shop across the street from my elementary school back in the 80s. Iggy Pop was half naked, and he looked ancient to me back then. For the record, I did eventually give a listen, followed by many listening sessions. Still, it's so funny to read that he too, uttered that phrase.

Still, it's a very interesting point your piece. In a lot of respects, things got much better (and worse) after turning 30. I refuse to admit to being a grown up though. That's like letting The Man win.
