LOL!!! Never thought I'd ever read a story with SG and Hello Kitty! Love Daniel's well thought out reasoning here, very clever. Great fic :)

It seems as though my six-and-a-half year old niece has been into the "Hello Kitty" stuff forever, so when I had a choice between "Barbie" and "Hello Kitty", you can see which one won. Actually, I like cats.... :-)

Hee! Now I'm wondering if Vala in Hello Kitty barrettes is actually canon or just part of Beanpot's fics, because this is WONDERFUL. :D

Uh oh, sounds as though you have another "Canon vs. Fanon" topic waiting for you, :-). I hadn't looked that closely at the barrettes Vala wears, but maybe a subliminal memory was the real reason I picked "Hello Kitty" over "Barbie" for the 'tacky to steal and even tackier for an adult to wear' accessory. :-)

I'm glad you liked the quickfic. It came out more serious than I'ld planned. (B is for Bedizen would likely have been funnier, partly because at one point Vala actually ASKED, "If these earings are so tasteless and tacky, why did you buy them for General Hammond's granddaughter?")

this is seriously cute! of course this story would come just after i watched a whole bunch of episodes of a show about compulsive hoarding, and now ive got morbid and gross images of the SGC after it has succumbed to someone like that! i especially love how classically Vala denies the problem, just like others with other addictive issues! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Vala is so vociferous about everything that her denials just flowed right out of the scenario. :-) I'm really glad to hear that the story didn't come off as too dark & preachy, just a slice of Life With Vala.
