[OOC] State of the Kyou

Okay, State of the Union time! Very late, thanks to my total failure at playing for the last two weeks. I'm combining this meme with the old dropping meme I'd half-started, and I'm tweaking the items a bit. Because that's how I roll.

"Current state" is self explanatory. "Future plans" will mainly cover posts I plan to do, but I may throw some general stuff in too. "Drop rating", which I'm adding in, is just a measure of how close I am to dropping them. I AM NOT PLANNING ON DROPPING ANYONE. Y-Yet. But if I do, the people with the highest percentages are the most likely to go bye-bye. And "OOC state" tells how I'm feeling about them, gives a bit more detail on the drop rating, and provides any OOC plans for them I have.

Sohma Kyou

• Current state: Noooot in a very good place right now. He's being even more antisocial than usual since Tohru left. (This might, y'know, be more noticeable if I weren't failing at playing everyone for the past two weeks.) I plan to have him approach normality again shortly, but he'll still be melancholy and/or irritable for a while.
  
  
• Future plans: Caves of Despair w/tinyRobin and Etna. Bodyswitch with the damn rat. Deaging~ I've had the icons for ages but never done it. THIS MUST BE REMEDIED. What else was there... Red-head post. Seki post! Leek soup in the mess hall. I've got lots of ideas for him! And just now I see the mess hall got wrecked -- so perhaps Kyou can make his medley soup for camp soon.

• OOC state: Caaaaaaat~ I came back from a 1½-year hiatus to app him a second time. I'm pretty sure that at this point, the only way I could ever drop Kyou is if I were dropping the entire game, which will NEVER HAPPEN. His voice comes easily to me, he's got some good friends and acquaintances here in camp, and I love my castmates to death. I should do some pimping posts, though. Furuba hasn't had any attention in CFO in ages. Also I want to thread more with the aforementioned castmates! Shigure hasn't draped on Kyou in ages, and that's not right. |D

Jenny Wakeman

• Current state: She's... uh... okay? Still a bit homesick. Honestly, it's been so long since I played her that I have no idea how she is.
  
  
• Future plans: ...uh. Try. Not to drop her.

• OOC state: s-sob. Here we come to my problem child. I've always had trouble with Jenny, and I don't know why. Maybe it's that her voice is usually... so normal? I mean, Sasahara and Fuyuki are pretty normal, too, but they both have hooks I can work from -- their respective obsessions with anime and the occult. And Kyou's normal beyond the curse, but his voice is more sarcastic and gruff, more interesting. I dunno, you'd think the fact that she's a super-powered robot would be enough! But I always have this feeling that I'm doing it wrong.
  
  Another part of the problem, it's occurred to me recently, is her icon set. I have a bunch of sad/angry icons that I very rarely use, and her happy icons don't have enough variety to them. It's not easy to icon for her, nor is it easy to review her canon -- no coincidence that the other character I'm having trouble with is also from an animated canon. My manga alts are easy to brush up on at a whim! But it's harder to set aside a block of time to watch a cartoon.
  
  I'm going to give it one last try. I'll set aside some time for canon review, do a post or two with just her... And if I'm still feeling like this about her in... let's call it a month, then I'll finally bite the bullet and let her go. But hopefully it won't come to that.

Sasahara Kanji

• Current state: Pretty zen! He's recently changed back from being an elephant, and now he's just settling into the swing of things again. He has a date-ish thing with Ogiue to look forward to, and with that he'll hopefully finally work up the nerve to get them solidly into the more-than-friends category. That's the plan, anyway.
  
  
• Future plans: GENSHIKEN~ The camp branch of the club needs to meet up and do stuuuuff. Also: Doujinshi fire sale (enforced by camp, natch). Dinner with Ogiue-san (in a journal, or in main comm for great spying?). Watching his own canon with Kousaka-kun. And his 1-year mark is this Wednesday, so clearly I have to do something with that. He also needs to bodyswitch with someone, and I should find a manga girl somewhere who's suitable for genderswapping. Any suggestions?

• OOC state: I'm in a good place with Sasahara! My only problem playing him is that I'm not as knowledgeable as he is about certain anime/manga. (I have, uh, for instance. Never watched Eva. Or Utena. Or Higurashi -- you get the idea.) But Wiki and ANN help me to fake it. Also I play off of the best Ogiue ever. But I need to get him out more and meeting other people! Both the ones he'll recognize and the ones he won't.
  
  Also. It occurs to me that I never did do that "can I recognize you" poll that all the other otaku did. ... d-do you think it would be too belated if I did one now? orz

Sakurazaki Setsuna

• Current state: She's doing pretty well, all things considered. Camp is often annoying, but she's made more than a few friends here. She has time to improve her skills, time to brush up before all the events that are coming up in her canon (after where I took her from, that is). And in the end, as long as Konoka-ojousama is happy, Setsuna will be happy too.
  
  
• Future plans: Finally get my schedule ironed out enough to thread regularly with Konoka again, because she is wonderful and the fact that I keep missing her makes me go "D:". Deage w/her? Also help her tame a laserdragon (as she said, need to check with Mia). And their 1-year mark is May 21st, so something anniversarial would be fun! Moving in a non-ojousama-related direction, I should do more with the dojo (for both her and Kyou, come to think of it). Join in the bathing-Kotarou post that my cast has been plotting. More anything with the rest of my cast. Get teased/pestered by Chizuru, maybe? They haven't threaded in ages.

• OOC state: Other than my continual failure to be around at the same time as Konoka, I feel really good about Setsuna. Her voice comes easily to me, possibly because she bears some slight similarities to Kyou. (With the niceness ramped up a few steps and the politeness ramped up about a dozen.) I don't think there's much of anything that could get me to drop her.

Death of the Discworld

• Current state: It's hard to say, with Death. Everything that's not a danger to the Disc he pretty much handles with ease. It's been... fascinating to meet all these people before their deaths. And there are people here who he's beginning to consider... friends. It's a strange new concept.
  
  
• Future plans: Relaxing under a tree with Binky. Chess with Endless!Death. Something with Death of Rats. ...Death of Bees?
  
  
• Drop rating: 40%
  
  
• OOC state: Death is hard to play. At first this bothered me, but I have grown to accept it. He'll never be a main, by any means, but when I can bring him out, I'll try to, and I'll have as much fun as I can doing it. Incidentally, I love Kon so much for going out of her way to help get Death and Jack Skellington to be friends.

Scrooge McDuck

• Current state: J-Just like Jenny, I haven't played him enough to really know. I guess he's handling it pretty well. Probably too well, given how long he's already been here. God.
  
  
• Future plans: Bring the Money Bin to camp. Finally have him start teaching people about treasure hunting.
  
  
• Drop rating: 70%
  
  
• OOC state: Oof, I'm having a hard time with Scrooge. It took me forever to get him introed, just because I was having such a hard time iconing for him. (Again with the animated canons.) And I feel intimidated by him. He's very intelligent and brilliant when it comes to business dealings, and somehow it makes me hesitate. I do well when I actually have him out! But getting him out? That's the trick. Maybe I should just resort to "[financial talk goes here]" like people with technobabbling characters do? Also, I want to finally get him to carry out his job as Treasure Hunting Instructor. And I have plans for it! They're just... pretty vague and I'm not sure how much interest they'll garner. sob so not confident.
  
  Final problem. As I noted in the "current state", he's been here for a long time already. He should have freaked out long ago about not being back home managing things and looking after his nephews, and I feel like anything I do at this point is going to be OOC because of that. After Jenny, Scrooge is by far the closest to a drop.

Hinata Fuyuki

• Current state: 8DDD Fuyuki loev camp. Seriously. For crying out loud, the first person he met here was a time traveller from Mars! He's planning out weeks of adventures and exploration and meeting awesome occult-type people~ The only way it could be better is if more friends from home came too. (Sergeant~)
  
  
• Future plans: Library post (he'll probably be studying up a bit on bees, lol). Love goo. Mistletoe. Fire-breathing ducks. Basically ALL THE WEIRD/OCCULT CAMP STUFF. So there's a lot of potential material :DDD Also: antics with the Kero Ball! Like a post where the levitation button gets stuck. Also also: antics with the frogs! Failing at target practice with Giroro? Getting badtouched by Kururu? Oh the possibilities~ And I can't wait to genderswitch and deage him. (God, I love my canon.)

• OOC state: It may be the standard joy that comes with getting a new character, it may be my recent obsession with his canon, or it may just be his neverending glee at being here in camp, but whatever the reason, I am having an absolute blast with Fuyuki. He's easy to play, I love his icons (this boy has some of the best expressions, I swear)...
  
  Something I do need to do, though: share my canon! (Storing this Veoh link for later.) I'm thinking of scanning some of the best chapters from the English release, just because I want more people to read this canon! (I kinda prefer the manga characterization for a few characters, Momoka chief among them. Don't get me wrong, the anime's awesome, but the manga's even better.)
  
  In case it wasn't obvious: I want castmaaaates. We have a prospective Sergeant and Alisa (I topped! For once in my life I actually topped!), so that leaves Natsumi, Momoka (guys I think I have a problem. 310 icons SOMEONE APP HER SO I CAN STOP), Tamama, Dororo, Aki, Mois...
