[Vicki looks surprised at the sound of his voice but doesn't attempt to look for the device. She knows it's too late anyway and it would a lot of trouble to find it in the dark.]

[ elena had heard her screaming from her room and rushed out of bed and to her door. she's standing there now, knocking frantically. give her a few more moments and she'll be bursting through the door. ]

Vicki, it's Elena. Can you hear me?

[The knocking startles Vicki out of trying to forget the nightmare and brings her back to reality. She realizes that she's woken up Elena and searches for her glasses quickly, hoping to be able to see incase Elena realizes that the door is unlocked.]

I can hear you! Sorry Elena, I didn't mean to wake you.

[Finding her glasses she struggles to get the lamp turned on. Her sight always causes the most problems at night.]

I'm alright...the door should be unlocked if you'd like to.

[She finally gets the lamp turned on and can see again, or at least much better than she was before. Vicki would be happier to know that Elena hadn't been sleeping yet but would still feel as bad since she never had the nightmares before the City. Her sight was as bad at home though.]
