Things have been going great since Shkurygin and I have been officially dating, and I've pretty much gotten the word out to everybody VIA myspace blogs, journal entries, phone calls, etc. . . . I remember the arguments my mom and I got into because she had a hard time letting go. I was her miracle baby, the 1st born when doctors told her she could never have kids. I never really understood why she sheltered me so much. For a long time I thought it was because she wanted me to be a big nerd and not have any fun. I was the mama's boy and for a while especially between the ages of 16 and 17 I felt a lot of resentment because of it. It wasn't until I was about a few days from leaving for Basic that my mom finally had one more good cry as she hugged me and then looked me square in the eye and said "I am ready to let go now". So believe me I know how it feels to have a loving and protective mother who has a hard time accepting that the little boy who once loved "bapples" is now an independent adult. Don't worry though in time your mom won't look at you and see her little girl Didi as much as she will see the independent woman Danielle. And she'll smile knowing that she played a huge part in the making of a strong intelligent and ( ... )

some kids don't realize until they have kids of their own what parents feel. i'm glad you get it. one thing though - you'll always be our baby. dad

I know exactly what you mean...I've come to realise that a lot now, too. It's always nice to know that you have such a loving and caring mother :)
