Player Name: Char
Personal LJ: acanti
AIM: x aeterna

Character Name: Cessily Kincaid
Canon source: X-Men

Personality:
Cessily is, fundamentally, a normal teenager shaped by the circumstances she grew and grows up in. She isn't naive or sheltered-- it's hard for any of her peers to be, given what they've gone through-- but she is still young, and she still sees the world largely in black andwhite. This has caused her to lash out at Emma once and refuse to accept her reason of "protecting her students" as justification for trying to throw X-23 out, and she very much sees discrimination against mutants and the X-Men as purely a bad thing. Cess has her iron-clad beliefs and sticks firmly to them, and will defend them publicly if need be. Having said which, she's very accepting of differences (partially because she wants others to accept her too), and gets along with peers of all appearances, personalities and religions. She is emotional and doesn't try to hold back her tears or tirades.

She's not a leader-type, but follows orders well and works best when part of a team. She's friendly and loyal to her friends, and will stick up for them and dive into danger to rescue them if need be. (She also trusts them to do the same for her.) From her time of torture in the Facility she's shown herself as human and vulnerable, understandably terrified and traumatised both mentally and physically. But Cessily is also, as her classmate said, "tough" and with "lots of spirit", and pulls through scarred and scathed but okay.

Her greatest desire is to be accepted by her parents for who she is, and she's pretty crushed by their rejection of her, because she loves them and wants them to love her. This is at the core of her (mostly unovert) rejection of her own mutant power-- however nifty it is and however much she's learned to use it, she doesn't like her mutant power because it marks her as different and unloved. There's a massive insecurity here because she tends to see herself as less than human, a freak of nature and a pile of "malleable goop" at the end of the day-- especially since she doesn't need basic human functions like eating or drinking or even breathing. Still, it makes her sad but doesn't cripple her-- every kid has his issues and this is hers, and she's been learning to deal. She may not be invulnerable but for all the knocks she's taken, she's pretty darn durable.

History: Wiki!

Strengths:
→ She's very protective of her friends and will defend them, both verbally and physically. She willingly places herself in danger and goes after them if they're in danger, no matter what the risks.
→ She sticks up for what she thinks is right-- to the point where she once launched a tirade against the Hulk.
→ Her powers make her a decent melee fighter and an even better spy, as long as she isn't up against an electricity or magnetism-wielding opponent or caught. She can get through the narrowest of cracks and remain inconspicuous, too. She's also quite resistant to magic.

Weaknesses:
→ Electricity, which causes her body to go freaking haywire.
→ She has a very hard time accepting herself for who she is-- a mutant with an obvious mutation.
→ Memories of her time in the Facility still haunt her, even though she's had to shelve them aside and get over them as quickly as she can because mutantkind faces more pressing dangers now.

Preferred drop-in point: Manhattan

What are some of your plans for this character in their new environment?
Make friends, participate in plots, eventually get over her insecurities sometime in the future.

Third Person Sample:
You never get used to the stares, Cessily thinks uncomfortably as she walks through the streets of Manhattan, not even if you've had years to come to terms with them. Especially not if you can see those hostile stares reflected in your own shiny, silver skin. The same skin she isn't comfortable in at all, and no matter how much she shifts and changes, she can't alter something that fundamental, and she doesn't think she'll be able to for the foreseeable future. At least the unfriendly stares stop there and no one here's tried to throw a brick at her yet. Yet. Sure, that wouldn't hurt her physically-- she'd just melt instantly and it'd go right through her liquid body-- but it'd hurt her in deeper ways, ways that matter.

But Cessily isn't one to wallow self-indulgently in her angst, no. She's Cessily Kincaid, an X-Man and a friend and a teammate and a former Hellion and a girl with a fading crush on a misunderstood bad boy, she tells herself. She's been through so much, and she can go through so much more. Her friends love her and that's what matters, even if they aren't here right now. A brave smile lights up her face and she walks on.
