[fic] In The Present (Pin)

Dec 23, 2006 23:11

karinberry was either the first to get her Christmas card or the first to let me know about it. *g* She asked for something sweet and Pin, and... this is definitely Pin fluff. :D I loooove you, Karen, and I'm glad you liked it. ♥

Jin’s pretty tired - classes started up again right after New Year’s, which had been depressing enough to spend alone in a different country - so when he lets himself into his apartment and finds Yamapi lying on the couch watching TV, at first he thinks he must be hallucinating.

But no matter how many times he blinks and rubs his eyes, Yamapi doesn’t go away. He doesn’t appear to have noticed Jin, either, although Jin’s pretty sure he must have heard the front door open. “Pi?” he finally says hesitantly, still not quite believing his eyes; at that Yamapi turns around.

Yamapi’s face lights up. He tries not to smile and says with what even Jin can tell is feigned casualness, “Hi, Jin. Merry Christmas.”

At that Jin whoops and bounds across the room to leap on the couch, practically landing on top of Yamapi, who’s no longer trying to hold in his grin. He wraps his arms around Yamapi in a tight hug but lets him go quickly to hold him at arm’s length and demand, “When did you get here? How did you get in? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Yamapi controls his delighted laughter in order to answer. “I landed three hours ago, your landlady let me in, and I wanted it to be a surprise.”

“A surprise,” Jin repeats. “Yeah - yeah, it is.” - and suddenly he’s smiling so hard his face hurts, because of all the surprises to come home to, Yamapi tops the list. So he pushes Yamapi back against the couch and kisses him fiercely, running his hands over Yamapi’s body to assure himself he’s really there, threading his fingers through Yamapi’s hair, touching his face. Yamapi clutches his shoulders and appears to be trying to wrap himself completely around Jin. When Jin finally breaks away, he presses his face against Yamapi’s shoulder and takes a deep, shuddering breath and laughs and laughs.

“I know it’s a little late,” Yamapi says, sounding a little breathless. “I had work - the concerts and everything - I couldn’t get free until yesterday.”

“I don’t care,” Jin says, because he doesn’t - it doesn’t matter when Yamapi got there or how long he’ll stay. What matters is that he’s here right now. “I don’t care,” he repeats. “We’ll pretend it’s Christmas. We can get a cake and everything.”

Yamapi struggles upright. “Do they sell Christmas cakes in America?” he asks. “After Christmas?”

“It doesn’t matter,” Jin says, dizzy with elation. “We’ll find something. We can make something. It can’t be that hard.”

“I survived the flight,” Yamapi says, “and now you’re trying to kill me?” Jin knocks him back against the couch, and in moments they’re kissing again and Jin can taste Yamapi on his tongue and feel him under his searching fingers and he doesn’t care if it’s December or January or the middle of July: this is the best Christmas present he’s ever gotten.
