Home for the Holidays Part 2/4

It was mid-afternoon before he actually had the guts to go to the garage. Blaine parked his car across the street from Hummel Tire and Lube and took a deep breath; he really didn't want to do this. He had thought about going to Mrs. Hummel first, but he knew that Kurt's father would at least appreciate it if he had the guts to face him. He didn't ( Read more... )

I'm loving this story, I really am. But if you don't mind a little concrit, I felt that the way Kurt was kept in the dark was a little contrived. It definitely made the chapter more dramatic, but I find it hard to believe that Burt would not tell his son right from the start why Blaine had sought refuge with the Hudmels. Especially when he knew Kurt would react badly (with reason, as he had had his heart broken without knowing why) and could probably guess that Blaine would react badly to Kurt reacting badly. Wouldn't Burt try to protect both boys from all that angst? I don't think the argument that "it's Blaine's story to tell" would have had that much strength given the circumstances. Also, Finn was so quick to spill the beans to Carole and Burt, but somehow not to Kurt ( ... )

I don't mind concrit at all. I'm very much still getting used to longer pieces.

Yes, it was contrived - I suppose it would have been better to at least have Blaine ask to be the one to tell him. I feel like 75% of book plots everywhere would not exist if everyone just said what needed to be said in the first place though.

Let's just pretend the day Will caught Blaine in the car was the last day before McKinley went on break ;-)

Oh my, that is so true. That goes for TV shows too. I used to love "The Wonder Years" back in the 80s/90s until I realized the plot of pretty much every single episode stemmed from the characters (usually the protagonist) keeping their silence (usually for no clear reason) and letting things escalate unnecessarily. ^__^

I'm so glad you weren't offended by my comment. I was afraid I had been too harsh, which was really not my intention.

Almost every Sweet Valley High plot unravels completely with the invention of cell phones.

Oh gawd, Kurt went loco and just screamed at Blaine in irrational jealously. I'm thinking it was a good thing Blaine broke up with that...
