Okay, so earlier I was thinking to myself about what book I should read next and I couldn't make up my mind. Then I remembered I have lovely well-read friends who can give me suggestions. Matt's coming home next week and he's told me he's making me read Ulysses and The Brothers Karamzov this summer so I'd like to read something not so...uh...like ( Read more... )

I happen to like (in no particular order):

-The Perks of Being a Wallflower
-Bridget Jones' Diary (based on something more literary . . .)
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

Those are all very fun and light reading and not so . . . well Ulysses or Brothers K. . . . by the way somebody needs to get out more.

Hope you enjoy!
Erin

p.s. I've Heard Hornby's Long Way Down is interesting?

Crabby. And sad. But mostly crabby.

Perks of being a wallflower is quite good - I approve. I also suggest A Separate Peace, Of Mice and Men (you haven't read that yet, right?), or Winter of our Discontent. There's no better way to make Boyfriend happy than reading Steinbeck.
