Lea raised her arms stretching. Dianna watched as Lea's muscles tensed and then slowly released when she let go the grip on her hands, but still held her arms up to get the full effect. Dianna started to walk closer to Lea without thinking about anything but her hands on the smaller brunette. It didn’t feel strange at all that she had never felt this tingle before; but the only thing that mattered was touch. All that could be seen of Lea was a silhouette behind the curtain. The wind was blowing through the window just enough to blur Dianna’s vision between Lea’s body and her silhouette.
It felt as if the closer Dianna got to Lea, the farther away she seemed to be. And finally, there she was; Dianna’s hand shook slightly as she neared it to Lea’s back. Dianna began cursing at herself, “Stop shaking. Stop shaking.” She didn’t want to ruin the moment, she wanted this to be a perfect caress, almost like she could only touch Lea once. Just centimeters away, Dianna’s fingers stopped shaking. The ridges of her fingertips connected with Lea’s soft skin and a shot of adrenaline rooted in Dianna. All of a sudden, flashes of images rushed through Dianna’s mind like a flashback in a film. Kissing, ripping, screams, tugs, scratches, moans, whispers, thrusting, blurred faces, and satisfaction. Next, a white light.
Bright light. Turn it off, Dianna thought. Dark eyelashes and blurred vision, Dianna had no idea what was going on. She fluttered her eyes and shook her head then looked around. It took a few seconds for her eyesight to finally focus on something. 7:05am. It was a dream.
Her chest and her breathing were uncontrollable. It took her a while to even realize that her eyes were open. She looked down to find her hand between her legs. Dianna shook her head and sat up. She was so disoriented. What was that dream supposed to mean? Dianna thought. Dianna held her head in her hands but her head instantly shot up when she heard the bathroom door open. Out came a quickly passed Lea in a towel with her hair tossed to the side, half dried. Dianna flinched and turned a deep shade of scarlet. Lea didn’t even look at Dianna, and if she had, Dianna wouldn’t have been able to catch her gaze because she was moving so fast. Lea disappeared into the bathroom again. Dianna was so confused. This was way too much to take in at seven in the morning.
“We need to go!” Lea exclaimed from the bathroom.
It took a couple of seconds for it to register that they had a performance that night and they needed to be in soundcheck and rehearsal in thirty minutes. Dianna shot out of bed and grabbed what clothes she could find. The wardrobe would be at the venue so wearing sweats and a tank top would be fine. Dianna picked up her hair and tied it back with a hair elastic. She walked to the bathroom door and knocked lightly.
“Yes?”
“I need to brush my teeth.”
An aggravated grunt reached Dianna’s ears and her knees buckled a bit. That dream had done a number on her. Lea opened the door and walked back to the toilet where she had the blow drier. She picked it up and bent down slightly. Dianna just stared. Lea was wearing tight jeans and she had yet to put on a shirt. Her bra wasn’t even meant to be sexy, but the fact that her back was exposed to Dianna made it so. Dianna’s knees suddenly gave out and she stumbled but was able to catch herself before falling. Lea turned her head and glanced at Dianna in the mirror. Again, Dianna’s face was a deep scarlet. Lea giggled a bit and smiled at her. There was no way that Dianna could have looked up at Lea’s reflection. God knows what other parts of her body she would lose control over next. She grabbed her toothbrush, put toothpaste on it, and walked out to the kitchen.
Lea thought that maybe Dianna had a bad hangover. She finished her hair and brushed her teeth, then walked out of the bathroom and put on her shirt. Dianna leaned her back against the counter and stared mindlessly at nothing with a glass of water in her hand at her lips. Lea raised her eyebrow. “Are you okay?” she asked Dianna. Not breaking her stare, she slowly answered, “Yeah, I just had this weird dream..”
Deja Vu hit Lea like a bus. She had said the same thing that night after the kiss. Did she hear me last night? Was she awake? Lea thought. “What about?” Lea gulped, wondering if she should have asked.
“I’m not sure if I want to talk about it right now.” Dianna said as she turned around and set the empty glass into the sink. Lea sighed with relief. “It’s okay, you don’t have to.”
Dianna kept staring into the sink. Her mind was racing in circles. Lea turned and grabbed her things. Dianna hadn’t moved from the last position Lea saw her in. “We have to go.”
Dianna exited the room without saying a word.
