Oh that totally sucks. I am not sure what state you are in, but if it is anything like Texas, you have just had a few cooler than normal weeks and summer is coming back and kicking arse with hot humid days.
For me, todays forecast call for a high of 104. With 40% humidity and very little wind. My advice: go to an indoor mall and walk around for the hours that will be the hottest or at the very least run a tub of cold water you can hop into to get wet and get out of. *hugs*
I'm in Ohio. And, heh, I pretty much move from one air conditioned space to another (house-car-store-house) so never normally pay much attention to the heat and humidity. It's hot here, but we rarely reach Texas temperatures, though our humidity levels suck. But our air conditioner died and we just have to wait for it to arrive and be installed. Meanwhile, I am meeeeeeelting and irritable and breaking up literal cat fights every ten minutes. They keep looking at me like "aren't you going to do something about this?" and then fight over the best spot to block the air flow from the box fans.
Al seriously suggested we stay in a hotel. I will drown in my own sweat before I pay for that. It's not like we don't have heat in the winter. We may not like it, but we can live without air conditioning. And I have been here the entire time. Al actually goes to his air conditioned office (in his air conditioned car) and taunts me with tales of how he even needs to bring a sweater with him. I fear for his karma.
When I buy a car, a/c is the first requirement, followed by [cup holders, automatic windows,] engine, [and] tires.
Yeah, but at least our situation is temporary. I have lived without it before (when I was pregnant of all times) and eventually I adjusted. I really feel for the people in the area who aren't able to have it and this reminded me to make sure my parents' unit is fully charged and working.
(Actually we are considering getting a window unit, because although fans and open windows do okay here for most of the summer, since it cools off substantially at night, we had two rather uncomfortable weeks in June and are now experiencing another hot spell when our bedroom is just a little too hot for comfort at bed-time.)

I think you need a hotel. Or personal attendants fanning you with giant palm fronds.
Or maybe both.

Indeed! Costs me nothing to admit that. I don't don't I would eventually get used to it. but I doubt I'd ever stop complaining about it. ;D
