Snowflake Challenge - Day 3

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create.... See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser-known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom who maybe aren't well known ( Read more... )

The Dreaming Spires is one of my very favourite Snarry fics and one of the first I read when I stumbled on WTP. I'll read that again tonight.

The Harry/Ginny sounds wonderful too - I'll check that out also.

It's amazing how many of us started our love for Snape/Harry with one of Delta's fics. I had been reading in the HP fandom on and off for several years, but Delta's Parseltongue-Tied cemented Snape/Harry as my OTP.

And the Harry/Ginny really is lovely. Harry is just so happy. I'm a Snape fan through and through, but for canon Harry, this is everything I could have ever wanted for him. ♥

The Dreaming Spires is seminal - the prospect of more? Unbelievable. You are a lucky woman.

I am. Truly. She wasn't wrong, though, the story does have more impact from Snape's POV. It's not in a form easy to replicate, but I have always wanted to see it shared. I know I am not the only person who would want to see it and I understand she gave me the only copy.

Ooh, nice recs! I'll give the Harry/Ginny a try - I rarely read them as the central pairing, but in the past months I've come across several fics with lovely versions of grown-up Harry and it's given me a yearning for more.

Your anecdote about Delta and the scrapbook made me tear up for a second. She's so generous and such a wonderful writer. I'm another reader who was bowled over by "The Dreaming Spires" and for whom it helped to make Snape/Harry my OTP for life. It's remained one of my favorite stories ever since. I hope someday you find a way - and the time! - to post the version from Harry's POV.

Also, any time you feel like typing up those tl;dr stories about those special Snarry fics, I'll be eager to read them. I love hearing what makes a particular fic special to different readers and how certain stories stay with us, even when we can't articulate exactly why they have a deep personal impact.

It's possible the H/G will be too ... sentimental (?) for your tastes, but it's short and well-written. I have this odd love for canon!Harry who marries Ginny and has his happily ever after and the large extended family that has always been his heart's desire. That love is simplistic at its heart and is very different from my love for fanon.

Delta has been on my mind a lot lately. She is indeed lovely in every sense of the word. The scrapbook is not in a form easy to replicate, and some of the art was created for the fic and would need artist approval for re-posting. But I have always wanted to see it shared.

Heh. I have a LOT of tl;dr stories that are probably only of interest to me in the long run.

On that last point, I wouldn't be so sure. You underestimate how many of us are insufferably nosy, particularly about people's relationships to fic. *g*

Let's test that, shall we? I replied with a bit of a mini-ramble to your other comment. *g*

Delta sent it to me as a "get well fast" letter in an email when it first appeared. I had broken both arms and my husband sat beside me and used the mouse to scroll for me so I could read it. He'd have been willing, but I really didn't want him reading aloud to me. I suspect there would have been a bit of extra "commentary". ;D

She has created some beautiful artwork and I'm always thrilled when she can make time for a bit of Snarry. I just love this one. It looks like it really should be on a holiday card.
