Their friendship started when Yasuhara accidentally stumbled (or perhaps was shoved by Takigawa, he’d never know) into Yuuko’s shop. He could not, though, think of a single wish that he wanted to be granted, and thought that maybe - perhaps, that stumble he had taken was meant for another of his friends. He was lucky and grateful for the things he had and never once wished for more than that. But even though that was true, he was purposely looking for ways to kidnap the dark haired male he had briefly met while there. He would routinely take Watanuki out to tea, where they would talk casually over the latest events or discuss sometimes things that were ordinary for them, but out of the ordinary for others.
"People only are supposed to come there if they need it," Watanuki explained, putting the warm tea to his lips. He was quiet for the moment, but he looked pleased that Yasuhara’s games had ceased for at least the few moments that they were in public. Or so he had thought.
Yasuhara smiled his typical smile - one that made Watanuki resolve to figure out when they were real, and when they were fake. Whether it was always mischief that was hidden behind it, or if it was sincerity. "Maybe I was just destined to meet you, Wata-kun. "Yes, the words were flirtatious, and hinted at familiarity. Anyone who had walked in on the conversation may have assumed the two knew each other for much longer than they had -only weeks.
Watanuki’s flailing was toned down thanks to the public nature of the setting. His face darkened into a deep shade of red, and he looked somewhere else in the room for a moment. (Yasuhara learned then that potted plants were the prime distraction for the other male when it came to avoiding his flirtation. He took the mental note, and was sure to find a way to avoid it on their next outing - make Watanuki face the flirtating.) "...Yasu..." he sounded flustered, but it was obviously trying to hide it with irritation.
Yasuhara wore that same grin, and a light chuckle escaped his lips. "Yes, Wata-kun?"
Watanuki pointed an accusing finger. "You’re doing that on purpose!" he was standing up by now, pointing, and with a voice raised. It was bound to get attention which he didn’t even noticed until Yasuhara lifted up a finger and pointed at the other patrons. He blushed, and tried to ignore the attention.
Then, as if it was on cue, Yasuhara stood, gripped the other male’s hands in his own. He took an almost shy, yet flirtatious expression as he said (loud enough for all nearby to hear), "Wata-kun~, you’re so cute when you make that face, but you’re drawing a crowd."
Watanuki promptly sat in his chair, hiding his head in his hands (that blush was not to be seen and enjoyed by Yasuhara), and mumbled again. "You’re doing that on purpose."
Yasuhara sat down again, joining the other. He distracted himself in his tea as he offhandedly said, "Of course I am."
