I'm so postng this in my own blog.

Sadly, this does not surprise me in the least bit. I guess I just think the worse of the American people and our ignorance of the world.

there's extremists in every country/religion/race...
and it's sad that we let the few idiots from each side battle it out and make life hell for everyone else.

...it's like we're going NOWHERE, you know?
Personaly, do you think it's better in Canada?
I think, in general, we are not so ignorant...
ONE Muslim in the House of Representatives is NOT Representative at all.

and the armband thing, and camps, and 'shipping them off'....holy shit, did we NOT learn anything from History???
wtf!!

also, if someone white covnerts to Islam...
or is married to someone, and converts afterwards,

does that make them a terrorist/dangerous...
more or less, due to their race?

it's just stupid.

That makes them a faker, with psychological issues we must explore (cf. John Walker Lindh).

no, with marriage people often willingly change their religion in order to raise kids in a one-religion household...

I don't necessarily agree with calling them a 'faker' since it's like saying someone black can NOT be buddhist, or an asian can NOT be catholic etc. etc. simply because it does not comply with their race...yet it happens every day.

race doesn't have anything to do with anything...UNLESS stereotypes come into the picture

(& that was the main point of me asking the question)

Man that is pitiful.. The beliefs that some people have about muslims is just ridiculous, I am always astounded..

there are a lot of mildly islamphobic or orientalist books at the library, sometimes I just feel blasé about them because I've seen so many, but there is one I saw last week that actually enraged me called Eurabia:

Nope, an actual book, sadly. My only hope is that people will see the amateurish cover and know it is the work of a crackpot..
