Abbot has two Bishops on the front bench, but the most interesting appointment for mine is Barnaby Joyce in finance. Head to head with Tanner. Either I am selling Barnaby really really short, or it's going to be a bloodbath, about the only saving grace is that they are in different chambers ( Read more... )

It is a pretty astonishing lineup.

Minchin in energy is just a big 'fuck you, greenies'.

And Bronnie back? Dealing with seniors? He really not only wants us all to forget the past, he actually thinks we will if he tells us too, right? Like, he actually thinks that kerosene bath stuff, and her being the worst minister for aging in living memory (so bad she not only screwed aged care for a decade, but state health as well), will all be forgotten.

Hilarious. Tony will not disappoint.

Combined with Mirrabella in Science and Innovation.

And Abetz in Workplace Relations, cause having outspoken hard right doing that worked so well for them in the past.

I really don't understand what they're doing. It's bizarre.

Maybe they're adopting a deliberately counterproductive approach in the hope that the public will respect their brazen attitude as they try to stymie the government.

I think when it comes down to it there will be a significant "how the f**k could I vote for that?" factor working against them come election time.

If they retain this lineup.

Which I doubt.

I don't know who do they go to. If Turnbull has any kind of nous he'll white-ant from the backbench, work really hard on his electorate and let Abbott et al get reamed in October next year. Hell they've only got about 4-6 months before they really have to pony up policy wise. Very little time to change tack and horses.

If they change again the game is absolutely up. But I think Abbott could do or say something outrageous enough they couldn't keep him. We've already had the "global warming has stopped" remark.
