I like just having lots of cards. It doesn't really matter whether I have all of them or have the best ones so long as I can rifle through huge stacks of cards.

Pretty much. Although I also manage to make killer decks compared to most of my friends just due to the quantity available.

I used to have a lot of fun with my kids playing Magic, Battletech and Mythos with the house rule that you had to play with the cards on hand - no going "outside" and buying killer cards. Of course, this is easier to enforce when as the parent, you control the money supply. :)
