So I went to this local cafe to meet some people from my anxiety group, the other day. It was nice seeing them in an informal setting. Being in public with more than one other person... Heh, I almost felt normalOnly problem was, the music was so loud I couldn't really talk to anyone and all but one other person left well before the music ended ( Read more... )

hey, I was wondering if I could join your social anxiety community. I recently (about a month ago) started treatment for my social anxiety. I'll add you as a friend to my lj so that you can access my entries in case you want to read them first.

You might like it better in Michigan. The storms always miss us :( But I'd love to see California, right now it looks pretty bleak, being rather poor and all :( Anyway, I stumbled upon your journal while discovering the use of the "interests" portion of my livejournal info. It's definitely alot of fun!

Heh, thanks!
I'm curious, which interest in particular did you notice? Just wondering, as I notice you don't have many listed.
I didn't have any posted for quite some time, until I realized that you don't need to be intensely interested in something 24/7 in order to list it ;)

I believe I found you through"writing". It's not one of my interests as of yet, but writing is what I do in all of my spare time - mostly.I just havn't had the time to add it into my interests. So, what is like in California, from a perspective of someone wanting to go there for a visit?

Go for it! Writing can be very illuminating... It can teach one at least as much about oneself as about the subject on which one writes :)

As for California - well, I've never lived anywhere else. I've always lived in Santa Cruz. I can tell you that on the coast the weather is mild as bathwater. I've heard folks from out east refer to our most destructive once-in-a-decade storms as "cute." Of course, we have earthquakes, but the vast majority of them are too small to even feel.
Overall it's a great place in terms of landscape... You can drive 2 hours and be in the middle of the desert, then an hour from there be at a ski resort, or in the other direction and be at the beach, or the forest. Really, that's what I'm going to miss when I move out.
The high rent and bizarre politics, I can take or leave :oP
And yes, we do have a lot of weirdos here. I should know ;)
