Not much exciting to post about. I was going to hit the mall yesterday, but was feeling far too lazy, so I stayed in and watched Gilmore Girls and Boston Legal with the parents. I find it funny they both used to hate Gilmore Girls (before watching it) and now they absolutely love it, haha. Wicked ( Read more... )

I need to hit the mall tonight too. . . I want to get a new top to wear out tomorrow night and I still need shoes for a wedding on Saturday. I love going to the mall. I keep thinking about trying to get into Gilmore Girls, I think I'll rent the first couple of seasons next weekend and hole myself up and watch it :)

It's definitely worth getting into, it's such a great show :)

And clothes shopping is always great. Surprisingly I only walked away with one shirt from American Eagle tonight. That store is so addictive.

You're going back to your job in a few months? I'm confused, I thought you were going to be done there?

My casual term is up at the end of this month and I can't work casual with the government again until next year - there's a limit to how many days someone can work in the same department as a casual when it comes to government jobs. Since I still have a lot of work left, they were going to hire me back on contract through a temp agency but they ran into a snag. The government, being what it is, is full of red-tape and they need to have "cool down" period between my casual and contract terms so it doesn't come across as a "conflict of interest" or some other sort of bullshit. It makes no sense and never will, I've just learned to go with it.

Got it. But I still don't understand the concept of the "cool down" period. I mean, if you were good enough at the job that they'd want you back, then why waste time without you?

The managers in my office agree that it's stupid. I don't really get it, but I know they'll bring me back after a few months, so I'm not too worried about it :)

Yay for government stupidity :P
