The pursuit of happiness

Oh, the joy of crass consumerism. Below you see pictures of the three pairs of shoes I hope will be waiting for me when I get home tonight.

I spent hours, literally hours, on Zappos.com, trying to find just the right shoes to round out my shoe wardrobe and the shoes below are the end result of that relentless sorting, researching, brooding, ( Read more... )

Oh lordy. Did you have to link to that sock page? Now I'm in trouble because I've always secretly coveted striped thigh-highs and not because of the Lolita look, because of the Dr. Seuss look. And for your post about BSG above? Don't even TALK to me about it. October! I ask you, is it really fair? Dr. Who with Chris Eccleston or not, OCTOBER!

U are so gothic lolita!

The pictures on that sock website make them extra tempting, though, don't they?

I'm looking forward to Dr. Who immensely, but British television seasons being what they are, there can't possibly be enough episodes to last us until October, right? Also, what happened to our summer BSG episodes? Waa. I count on cable to air new stuff while the networks aren't.

What I don't get are the purposefully slouchy socks -- is this "a thing" now? Because I can only think of Ramona Quimby telling her teacher that her ankles were as wrinkled as an elephants.

As for BSG, I think it's gotten so popular that they now know they can hold their own in the regular season. Sucks for us, though. A summer without BSG is like a vampire without fangs: pointless.

The best thing about ruining your shoes is that you get to get new ones. I was actually show online shopping yesterday, but managed not to buy anything.

I love to put shoes on my Favorites on Zappos and not buy them. It's like having a virtual closet! I can "get rid" of them guilt-free, too, when I no longer like them.
