Family policy requires no one mention how well things are going or how quiet is is lest they attract the Whimsical Fairy, who gives experiences that are only funny later, if at all.

We sometimes give Grams a pass. Mainly because we can't stop her. But you should see me restraining the urge to make warding gestures when she chirps 'This is all so NICE! Isn't it peaceful?'.
