As part of the university’s activities marking the 40th commemoration of the May 4, 1970, shootings, Kent State University will host a dedication ceremony for the historic May 4 site’s listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the opening of the new May 4 Walking Tour.

So, May 5th would be the 40th anniversary of the day I got my ass kicked at the schoolbus stop for wearing a black armband.
Time, she do fly.

Junior high. Don't go to school required physical evidence of serious illness- plus I was *pissed*.

I was all-but-diploma and touring colleges at the time.
I had actually been thinking of Kent State. Wound up at Penn instead. Wasn't in any emotional shape to stay there long, however.
