Thanksgiving Feast

I made the same Thanksgiving feast I've been making just about every year - I posted pictures of it in 2015. A rolled turkey breast in the two-pound/one-kilo range, which I brined overnight. Sounds yummy! Cassie and I went very minimal - pork butt, baked sweet potatoes, and pie.

Of course, it doesn't have to be turkey. The supermarket was giving away free turkeys if you spent a certain amount of money in November - and they also gave away hams, roasting chickens, and Tofurkeys. The turkeys they were giving away were far too big for two people, so I donated mine to a local "soup kitchen" that does holiday meals - and bought a small turkey breast at Whole Foods ;-)

(We've got plenty of leftovers.)
