I'm having Thankgsgiving dinner with my son and his wife. He gets tested for COVID several times a day at his job, and his wife doesn't go out much (she has some health issues). I'm bringing my dinner rolls, my world-famous rice stuffing, and a gluten-free dairy-free pumpkin pie ( Read more... )

I was so low on energy I didn't even post to my journals very much. But that's been fixed now!

My son's a very good cook. And he barbecued the turkey, and his enormous barbecue grill has a smoker attachment, so it was smoked while it was roasting. As I went up the driveway, I got a whiff of the smoke, and said, "Wow, something smells delicious!" And it was. (I have come to the conclusion that all animal protein tastes better when it's cooked over an open flame. That's why barbecues are so popular!)

Thank you. I need to put the finishing touches on my birthday cake before we go out. Not that we're "going out", because we cant go to a restauraunt, or a movie, or a venue with live music. There's a chance the aurora might be visible from around here tonight, and there's also the 'superconjunction)- maybe we'll just go for a drive.
