My Heart Still Beats...sorta
Okay so I was reading up on this article here about some news website or newspaper person who basically made took a hotdog, cored it out, filled with Cheese-in-a-Can, wrapped said hotdog in bacon, cooked it for a bit, then fried it in batter. He gave it to some girl who had written about it, but never had one.
Thinking "Wow, that shit looks good, and I'm insane", I went and got the ingredients and replicated the event. Basically bought 1 pack of 8 (but used 4) Ballpark Bun-Sized Beef Franks, 1 can of American Cheeze-in-a-can, a package of bacon (only used about 4 pieces), and a package of beer batter (although I used water and not beer). I tried to core out the hotdogs, but I didn't have a potatoe peeler or apple corer, so I used a chopstick, which didn't do much other than push the meat further into the hotdog. So I didn't get much cheese in it. I then took each hotdog, wrapped it in bacon, which didn't really wrap all the well, but I also didn't give the bacon time to thaw to a good temperature to actually not separate horribly. Once covered, I cooked them for a bit with a tiny bit of oil in my pan, just enough to slightly brown the bacon a bit. After that, I put the dogs in the batter, and then added more oil to the pan. I basically fried them till the batter was nice and golden brown.
As you can see from the pics, they look tasty, although they did not get enough batter on them.

I think that next time I do these, I'm gonna get thicker dogs, probably Hebrew, cause I think they are thicker. I will also try to buy an apple corer or just slit the dog enough to put the cheese in. I will also take more time with the bacon and actually not stretch the bacon to wrap around the dog. And I will also do milk, dry batter, milk, dry batter, just to make sure that I get a decent amount of batter on it, cause I just did wet batter, and it didn't quite stick like wanted.
Overall, taste wise it was nice. I mean its basically a fried hotdog with bacon and cheese. And no, my heart did not clog up, but I probably won't notice the effects for some time...maybe in a few years.
