Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon were both very popular in the US during the 90s as well. Pokémon was also one of the biggest things of the late 90s, too, but doesn't appear on the list!
And I don't think anything on the list wasn't familiar to me XD Except for going to McDonald's to play... my parents would never have taken us to McD just to play O_o; We rarely ate out, and when we did, we didn't go out so we could play.
I think the reason Pokémon wasn't mentioned in the list was because it was a (very) late 90s phenomenom, especially in Occident (1998 in the U.S., 1999 in France). The list seems to focalize on early to mid 90s.
We didn't used to go to eat at McDo in my family, so I never got to play there, unlike you. :O
