Juror #12

That's me. I am off to jury duty after having been chosen yesterday morning. The 10 people who were griping about needing to wait around can thank me for filling in the last juror's slot.

Criminal case, supposedly shouldn't take more than 2 days (Wed. & Thu.) but we'll see.

More info after the trial. Mum's the word right now.

Hey... I just got called too. I asked to have it deferred 'cause the date for the trial was two days before my London trip.

I would be prepared to go, anyway.. They twice asked people whether they would have a hardship (medical condition/vacation) that would prevent their sitting for trial. They asked, once in the main jury room and again when in the jury selection process. They may ask again during the personal interview process.

I had been called to go October 22. 3 weeks later I was walking home from somewhere and thinking, now, I do believe I forgot to do something a while back... ohhhh!

Thank goodness they give people a second chance before being dragged off to scofflaw court.

All I had to do was fill out the the reason in the "remarks" box. There's no way in hell my boss is letting me go that close to the business trip.
