“I like it when you sing,” 90s Kid said, lounging on Harvey’s bed. He’d been reading a comic, but he’d abandoned it in favor of listening to Harvey hum while he got ready for work.

“I should hope so,” Harvey said. “Considering it’s what I do for a living and the fact that I’m a siren. If you didn’t like it I think I’d be offended, Kid,”

“Will you sing for me sometime?” 90s Kid asked.

“Sure. In two and a half months,” Harvey said.

90s Kid groaned. “Ugh this waiting thing is totally bogus, dude. Total buzzkill,”

Moving to my second favorite verse of yours how about Spoony telling Insano about Linkara for the first time in your SWAT AU.

Spoony went down to Autopsy, fuming. Even his teammates were avoiding him.

Insano looked up when he came in. He was in the process of taking off his gloves after cleaning up.

“Oh well that’s not a good look,”

“Fucking rats I can’t deal with this shit not right now. Why is this my life?” Spoony ranted.

“In English?” Insano asked, washing his hands.

“The IAB guy they assigned to me. He’s…He’s…” Spoony said, flailing a little in frustration.

“Everything you could want in a man?” Insano asked dryly.

“How the hell did you -“

“I do have eyes, and he came to talk to me, actually. And judging by the way you’re reacting, something happened,” Insano said.

“We were sparring, and I fucking knew it was a bad idea but did I listen to me? No, of course not!” Spoony said

Oh Spoony bringing up Spoonette was just low.

See, you bring up Linkara talking to Insano during his investigation of Spoony and now I just have to see that. If it's not too much trouble of course. (And thanks again.)

“Excuse me, Doctor Schlumper?” someone asked, and Insano looked up, startled.

No one at the precinct called him that, preferring the nickname that Spoony had given him in High school.

“Yes? Can I help you?” Insano asked.

The visitor wasn’t anyone Insano knew. He wore an old fashioned hat that Insano was sure would look ridiculous on himself.

“I’m Linkara, from Internal Affairs,” He said. “I understand you’re Lieutenant Spoony’s cousin?”
Insano made a noise of understanding. So this was about Spoony’s…incident.

“His mother is my father’s sister,” Insano said.

“I can see the family resemblance,” Linkara said, smiling.

Oh. Oh, Spoony was in deep trouble. If Linkara turned that smile on him, there was no way Spoony would be able to control himself.

“What can I help you with?” Insano asked.

“I’d like to ask you a few questions about the Lieutenant, if you don’t mind. I’d just like to get an idea about who he is,”

“Spoony is a good man,” Insano said.

“That’s what most people are saying,” Linkara said, nodding.

Linkara wasn’t sure what he thought about the territory he’d been assigned. He was almost convinced that the Order had been messing with him when they’d sent him here. Everything was so…not what he’d been taught to expect. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, it was just confusing

“Harvey,” Linkara said, trying to stay calm. It had been a very difficult patrol tonight, and Linkara just wanted to go to bed. That wasn’t looking like it was going to happen. “Why is there a strange boy passed out on my futon?”

Harvey sighed. “He was dead tired. He’s been asleep for about an hour now,”

“That explains the passing out, but the most important part is who is he?” Linkara asked

Heh, 90s Kid the puppy. Someone should draw that someday. Also somehow I doubt Linkara and Harvey ever really managed to convince 90s Kid to stay out of that park at night.

Last prompt (for tonight anyway); I'd love to know what Spoony's thoughts of the new Slayer were after Linkara had been in town for a while. Thank you.

Spoony wasn’t sure what to think about this new Slayer. He was clearly an Order member through and through. But he was different. He wasn’t as arrogant as the other slayers had been, more open to listening. Still didn’t care much for vampires, and obviously didn’t think much of Spoony, but he listened when Spoony or Snob told him something which made Spoony’s life much easier. And it was intriguing.

He had spirit, and Spoony liked that. And he wasn’t hard on the eyes, either.

Spoony didn’t dare to hope that this slayer would stick around, but he was beginning to think that maybe - just maybe - this wouldn’t be a bad ride while it lasted.

Now he just had to convince Linkara of that.
