Well, yeah, we know about the web junky thing, but what about the birth status? ANY CHANGE???!!! Thank god you're clever and built the thing or how would you ever know?
Just keep refreshing. It'll update immediately upon birth.
Implementation was pretty easy. We'd already had an RFID chip implanted in the baby to ensure against mixups in the event that we needed a hospital birth. Now Bean just has to wear the RFID reader/SMS transmitter around her thigh during the birth and it'll detect the RFID as soon as the baby comes into range. That will trigger an SMS to a one-time-use number with an encoded message, which my server will use to change the display on that page.
Now I'm just working on a way to hack a video camera into the RFID Reader so we can stream the birth live on hasbeanhadthebabyyet.us.
Interesting. That's an awfully low-range RFID you managed to acquire there. Personally, I probably would have just gone with installing some faraday shielding in the uterus just to ensure the sensor wasn't accidentally tripped.
