The thing is, I can actually feel good about doing it because,
1. I never have to lie. 2. The water in Jacksonville sucks, so everyone actually needs it. 3. After everything is taken into account, I end up actually SAVING people money.
The only bad part of sales is the inconsistency. I always make at least 2 sales per week, but this means (and this week is a good example) that sometimes the hours I put in are atrocious and the money is weak.
Monday - $1378.00 in six hours Tuesday - $0.00 in eleven hours Wednesday - $0.00 in fourteen hours Thursday - $0.00 in fourteen hours Friday - $0.00 in twelve hours Saturday - $1378.00 in four hours
So, $2756.00 for the week, divided by 61 hours is only $45.18 an hour (which is still pretty decent) gross, but considering how much effort I have to put into each demo, it's barely enough.
If I could somehow make two sales each day (sales average out to about $1000.00 of net commission each), that would be $12,000.00 per week. If my demo was good enough to sell everyone I saw, I'd only be working 6 hours a day Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and 12 hours on Tuesday for a total of 42 hours. Divide that into $12,000.00 for an hourly rate of $285.71.
