360 DEAD

Sep 16, 2007 23:08

So I guess my 360 DIED. I hardly ever play the damn thing, and this is the first time I've ever had a system die on me like this (and I'm going way back to Atari, NES, etc.). Even my LAUNCH PS2 never died, and I played that thing into the ground. Apparently Microsoft makes consoles about as well as they make operating systems, which is to say, not ( Read more... )

Did your PS2 get "disc read errors" ? The best solution for that particular problem is to just clean off the lense. And not with one of those silly cd cleaners, but to actually open up your PS2 and clean it off manually. Then again, not everyone wants to go through all the trouble, but it's better than buying a new system if you ask me. :)

It's weird, cause I actually didn't get the red circle, it just won't recognize any discs. I went online before calling the customer service, and apparently a lot of people have the same problem.

Heheh. I actually know people who got the red ring of death, but surprisingly, my 360 didn't go out that way. My 360 simply won't recognize any discs at all, even brand new ones like BioShock. I checked the xbox forums, and I guess it's some problem with the 360 drives not spinning down properly. Anyhow, at least they're gonna fix it. Hopefully I won't have to go through this more than once a year. :/

Yeah, that was the last time it worked ! I read that the 360 drives have trouble spinning down and that's what causes the disc drive to get damaged. What a crappy machine !

one of my other lj friends just posted this over the weekend, shitty

"Did anyone else have their Xbox die completely with the 3 red lights?!?!?

It seems common.

I have to send it in and wait like 3 weeks to get it back fixed. GREAT. We pre-ordered Halo 3 and paid for overnight shipping... for nothing!"

Oh man, that sucks. Seriously, I don't think there's ever been a console with such a high failure rate. :(
