There are generally ways but it takes a real, concert effort by many law enforcement departments, often working internationally. International effort requires diplomacy which is something in relatively short supply in the West it seems.

I only know of one cyberstalker being arrested and this was a case tried in the UK.

I have a cyberstalker who has been contacting people that know me too so I understand how you feel. My cyberstalker is not located in the country I live in so it makes it more difficult to deal with.

Being that yours is sending child porn to you that will cause law enforcement to go after him faster than any other kind of cyberstalker. http://crime.about.com/od/childporn/qt/porn_report.htm

Good luck getting rid of your stalker.

While I can't imagine that there are NO cases of somebody pulling shit though the benefit of being anonymous, the really worrisome cases are probably independent of the restraints which might bar the casual douchebag ( ... )

To your case in particular:

Ever think about writing your story down and sending it to This American Life? It sounds like quite an ordeal. Maybe they'd do a piece on it, or as part of some larger story.

I wish I had an answer for you, what happened to you really made me angry. I thought it was really careless of Facebook to put you through all that and you should have never had to resort to using your real name publicly.

This guy has been bothering you for far too long, he needs to be shut down. It should have never been allowed to progress this long.

Thank you. If something could be done it would have been done a long time ago. He has managed to beat the law for now. There is a reason he hides like a coward in his basement.
