I love imagining the back stories of some of the characters, especially Hellstrom and Landa, and this was really well done and enjoyable to read(despite poor Dieter's difficult childhood)!

I wish that there were more fics about character's back stories in this fandom. The movie pretty much provides us with blank slates for every character, and it would be interesting to read different people's takes on different characters, particularly characters such as Landa and Hellstrom, who are characters that we know so little about in canon.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm just honoured that you liked it so much! And really, we all know what happens... Kommissar Rex comes in and saves the day, then Landa walks in later, and they adopt Rex from Wicki. It makes perfect sense. ;p
Thanks again. :)

Aaaaah, that explains it. I approve of this ending. What about the Rex story, btw? And the boots? :P

As for both the Rex story and the boots one, they are the next two on my list, following the Love In Thoughts fic that I was supposed to be working on instead of this (it's all Günther's fault. If he wasn't so insistent in turning what was supposed to be a quasi-fluff - with liberal dashes of angst, of course - fic into an angst-ridden melodrama in which everyone dies, I may have already finished that LiT fic. He's a bad influence, that character.)

I loved all the metaphors and descriptive bits. Hell, I love the whole thing but my favorite part was:
"A cane let loose across knuckles, a murmur of suppressed laughter rippling around him.
He straightens his back, the beginnings of a smirk that will eventually send shivers down people’s spines playing across his face, as he stares directly at his teacher. “Is that all?” "
Brilliant in ever sense of the word. =)

The bit you highlighted is probably, well, not my favourite, but the bit that's truest to the original plot bunny, so I'm glad you liked it.
Thank you again, I'm really glad you liked it!
