that same day some fuckwad in baghdad did essentially the same thing as the virginia tech fuckwad, but managed to kill some 183 people. i only heard it mentioned by the bbc, and perhaps alluded to by some talking head from the states.

this school shooting story will last for a while, then some pretty white girl will go missing or senators will resume a debate about stem cells/abortion/gay marriage or some sports team will do something statistically improbable and i'll just grow more and more depressed and angry at how ridiculous this country, the world, the human race is.

Our government just hopes we have grown numb to Iraq. It's awful really. I sat in class a few eeks ago talking about 9/11, which always gets connected to Iraq.....and all I could think (and eventually say) was wow....we are worrying about how to build a 4 million dollatr memorial site when people are starving in our own neighborhoods and 60,000 Iraqis have died since 2003. Some people saw my point....others were pissed I did not put a higher value on memorialization....Yeah.....This is why I can't get to sleep at night....
